Research and Development

As part of our drive to build our knowledge of what best practice in resuscitation means, Resuscitation Council UK funds and supports resuscitation research projects across the UK.

For decades we’ve been providing financial and practical support for resuscitation-related research projects that aim to shape what we know about resuscitation. Every year, we offer research and development grants to individuals who are looking to discover new things in various resuscitation topics, including AED use and in-hospital cardiac arrest.

Applications for the 2023 Research and Development Grant is now closed.

Resuscitation Council UK is firmly committed to supporting cutting-edge research and are looking to support research projects that focus on resuscitation topics and will expand our community’s knowledge base.

We are encouraging applications from any individuals working within the United Kingdom in the NHS or a social care organisation, a university department, professional organisation or charity within the who have robust and well-designed study proposals. Applicants should have a credible track record of conducting such research projects or be working under appropriate supervision.

It’s important to us that the researchers we fund reflect our diverse resuscitation community, and we both welcome and encourage applications from underrepresented groups.

We expect to inform applicants of the shortlisting by July 2023. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by early November if their application is successful.
