To be ResusReady you need to have completed CPR training within the last 12 months. This could include free online CPR training like Lifesaver, going to a CPR training event in your community, taking part in first aid training or CPR training as part of your studies. You can then register via our online form.
For your organisation to be ResusReady, they must offer employees access to basic CPR training in the last 12 months. This includes making them aware of free CPR training available for example, Resuscitation Council UK’s Lifesaver.
If your organisation has a defibrillator on site, this defibrillator needs to be registered with The Circuit.
If your organisation has further questions, please contact rsah@resus.org.uk.
The Circuit is the national defibrillator network that maps the location of public access defibrillators and provides this data to ambulance service control centres so that their whereabouts are known in an emergency. It is essential that everyone who owns a defibrillator intended for public use registers their device on The Circuit, as this enables ambulance call handlers to direct people to the nearest defibrillator. There are other advantages, such as The Circuit sending out regular reminders about the upkeep and maintenance of the defibrillator. Further information is available at www.thecircuit.uk.
There are many different CPR training providers. Resuscitation Council UK Lifesaver programme is a free online CPR training programme you can complete at home. Organisations can purchase e-Lifesaver to integrate with internal Learning Management Systems (LMS).

We’ve initially set the threshold at 10% of each constituency to provide a more immediate and visible change on the map. This encourages engagement and motivation as people can quickly see their area progressing towards becoming 'ResusReady'. By setting a lower target to begin with, we want to show communities that every effort counts and that their participation is helping to move the needle.
As more people receive CPR training, we’ll adjust the threshold upwards to reflect the growing number of trained individuals. Our ultimate goal is to have 75% of each constituency trained in CPR. This progressive approach ensures the map remains dynamic and keeps communities motivated to reach that final goal. The different shades of green will continue to evolve as training numbers increase, helping everyone see how close their constituency is to becoming fully 'ResusReady'.
