Case Study: Meridian FC raises CPR awareness with community football event

Meridian FC CPR training

Thanks to the support of Resuscitation Council UK’s Community Grant Scheme, Meridian Football Club has been able to organise a resuscitation awareness event - bringing vital lifesaving skills and community spirit together.

The grant has played a key role in making its upcoming Resuscitation Awareness Day a reality. As part of the event, Meridian FC are welcoming a professional resuscitation expert from the NHS to deliver an engaging and interactive session.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of CPR, witness live demonstrations of resuscitation techniques, and take part in a Q&A session to deepen their understanding. By equipping their community with these essential skills, Meridian FC hopes to empower individuals with knowledge that could one day help save a life.

In addition to raising awareness about emergency response, the funding has also enabled them to organise a community football match, bringing people together through sport and shared purpose.

We are incredibly grateful for the support that has made this initiative possible. By combining resuscitation training with community engagement, we are fostering a culture of preparedness and inclusivity.
Carlos Attafuah, Trustee at Meridian FC

Carlos concluded: "With the help of Resuscitation Council UK, we are not only raising awareness of lifesaving techniques but also building a stronger, more connected community."
